both are finale films in a series that is very hard to ignore, both films do what their show does best plus more
Both are movies in which depict the event after the TV series. The concept of both movies are pretty similar IMO, in which our dandere took a central role here in the relations with the male protagonist, and the male protagonist decision was also similar. It's just that End of Evangelion has some actions and also depicts what happened on Shinji mouth, while The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya showed us more to the what happened on the given lifeline and how the protagonist act on that lifeline.
In these movies the quiet main female from each story gives the main character a choice that determines the type of world they consider for themselves and as a result the main character goes through a phase of psychological conflict to accept their own decision. They're almost exactly the same in that way
What makes EoE so similar to "The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya" would obviously be that both are movies which purpose is ending an anime, but I'd say there's more to the connection. Both movies have exquisite character developement, deep monologues, and in some ways, a similar plot.
