What is interesting about these two series is that while they appear to have isekai elements, neither of them should not be watched or treated as a typical isekai.
* Grimgar is more oriented towards slice of life than you would expect.
* 100-man is more similar to a game where you complete quests in order to clear scenarios. Those quests would get more complicated as time goes on.
I believe both anime require you to be a patient watcher to understand what these shows really want to focus on. Also they are both shows where characters start from the very bottom and gradually growing.
not OP main character
set in hard and "grindy" type of game
group of players trying to survive
not a harem

Similarities:
-Specific group of students got transported to an alternate game like world, where the name of the game is "Survival."
-Same group of students whom later adapted themselves into that alternate world.
Dissimilarities:
Hai to Gensou
-Players were stuck there until such time.
100-Man,
-Players can go home after competing the task.

-Both can be considered an isekai deconstruction.
-In both we see an atypical protagonist, without being OP, but in 100-man Yotsuya is more intelligent and selfish, while in Grimgar, Haruhiro is more someone with an inferiority complex and internal conflicts.
-The two series show us a group of 'heroes' who are not really powerful.
-None of the two series goes by the harem trope, or so it seems.
-Death is a real danger in both series.
