It's hard to explain how they're similar but both shows leave you with this warm emotion. But I guess if you like shows that talk about relationships, existentialism, phylosophy and life in genereal. These two are a must watch. Though the plot is different, in one the MC is a shogi player while in the other the MC makes a dictionary.
We can sense the same warm and happy feeling from someone else love (not family). If you like how Rei Kiriyama struggle to win every match, then you will love how the Fune wo Amu's male lead struggle to make a good dictionary.
Both are about socially awkward yet gifted MCs meeting energetic and positive people that will open their mind teach them healthier way of life. Art is amazing in both, especially some effects in 3-gatsu no Lion make it truely beautiful. Nice OST as well.
NB: 3-gatsu no Lion is often compared to Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso but to me it's unaccurate because both have very different 'vibes' as the second one tends to be over dramatic and sad, while the first one is absolutely NOT.
