I often hear people compare "Ace wo Nerae!" with the similarly-titled "Top wo Nerae! Gunbuster" for their surface-level similarities and while I can see that Ace wo Nerae! did inspire some parts of Gunbuster, there's a more recent series that feels like it took a lot more from Ace wo Nerae! in some more integral ways.
