Both animes revolve around the MCs being stuck in a game world. Both animes are about the journey to basically survive or complete it.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar is a more serious take on the 'game world' genre. It is more realistic as the main characters are really struggling in the game world (no over powered characters). It is also very slow paced (though I think it is perfect that way).
Kono Subarashii is way more light hearted and is more focused on getting the viewers to laugh. Its a blast and you'll understand once you watch the first episode. The voice acting is on point

In both titles MC ends up in RPG-themed fantasy world. Also both are airing at the same time. The main difference is that Konosuba is more comedy, while Grimgar is more serious.
Both show take place in an MMORPG like world.

- They are both fantasy.
- KonoSuba is much more comedic.
- Both don't have any interesting fights going on.
Both feature a MC trying to cope with a new world that is based on a RPG. However KoNoSuBa is far less gritty and devestating as Ashes of Grimgar. Consider KoNoSuBa to be the comedic version of Grimgar meant to be enjoyed in the pursuit of laughter where Grimgar offers you a more realistic view and makes you deal with hardship.

RPG-like environment. In Grimgar, the story is dramatic and serious plot while Konosuba has comedic plot. The story is kinda similar. A must-see anime series.
