As these are both short films by Furukawa Taku, it stands to reason that they are similar. But these two share more similarities to each other than to Taku's hand-drawn narratives or his color and light experiments. While I'm no expert, Mac and Play Jazz seem to be early attempts at computer-drawn animation. They date from the mid-eighties, and boy do they look it.
