Well, both started with the boy finding the girl and then the bad guys comes after the girl for her connection with (her father in Giniro no Kami, her grandfather in Conan). Then the boy goes on a journey to save the girl.
They also share how that the world was once destroyed because of technology and they now live a harsh life with nature, but there are still people who want to recover the old past.
I thought they are very similar. I prefer Future Boy Conan Over Giniro no Kami.
