Okay, seriously? How is it that nobody made this connection but me? Just about everything that is in Dai-Guard is heavily influenced by Neon Genesis Evangelion. I swear that Dai-Guard is an Eva parody, but I can't find anything on it. Am I insane or is this some big joke that I was not let in on?
Especially the monsters and monster fights are similar: Giant monsters, called Angels in NGE and Heterodynes in Dai Guard, with somehow abstract looking designs attack earth for no apparent reason. A mech with limited power resources fights them. The monsters develop additional powers over time in both series.
Each time I saw a fight in Dai Guard, it felt like a NGE deja vu.
