Main character returns to the town he lived in as a child and finds people he knew from back then. Both are dark and gloomy anime and have a feeling of mystery about them.
Both have dark setting, boy returning back to town, meeting childhood friends and twincest.

YnS main plot and M;Y side/subplot are similar in that they deal with incest. Both anime tell the story/arc near the end of their season. Where YnS deals with both MC, M;Y is focused on the "supporting IMO" BroSis. Both anime leave an open ending where both respective siblings move out of the country after a taboo/scandal respectively was found out by the locals, YnS was voluntarily while M;Y was forced.
