The Shuusuke and Shuri's escape is similar to Ryuuji and Taiga's situation.
Both of anime are funny at the beginning and serious at the end.
Myself; Yourself failed to pack comedy along with it but have really intense relationship build-up throughout its 12 episodes, unlike toradora's 26 episodes length. The tension in the "atmosphere" for Myself; Yourself builds up real quick and carries on long, whereas for Toradora!, it builds up really late, like the last one-third of the story. But overall, both are really good and worth watching!
