In both series, the magical girls have the ability to transform into cute and vibrant heroes in order to fight off evil. Additionally, both series have a strong focus on the magical girls and they often rely on the power of friendship to overcome obstacles. Both series also feature a lighthearted and adorable tone, with plenty of humor and charming moments. Not to mention both main characters are in love with an older guy or can't choose who they like the most. Overall both are a guilty pleasure.
