Both feature protagonists who at first were apprehensive and even dismissive of a grander task, but later ended up giving the most of themselves to complete it.
Now, I can't exactly go into detail about why the two are related, because it tends to be spoilers. Though what I can still say is that I would very much recommend the two anime with the themes they dwell into. The people you choose, the journey, the adventures. An interesting time is spent together with the characters in these two stories, even if they collide seemingly out of nowhere, with initial discord at that too.
Not exactly the most transparent thing to move into if you are watching either or, but I'd say they are good for their audiences enough so.
