They are similar by the share intensity of each and every episode. You just want more and more. Its kind of hard holding back untill two episodes go past. But in comparison these two are both great

Both have Shingami, both deal with hell. It deals with dealing with the criminal, though more so in Death Note.

Impossible to forseen what would happen in the next chapter. Interesting plot full of unrevealed secrets and presumtions. If you are interested in shinigami world as well and delight with death ... This anime is ideal for you.

Shinigami. Death Note and Bleach both have high school students who have their lives changed by shinigami alike.
Although Death Note is indirect, with Light finding the Death Note at his school. Bleach is more direct that Ichigo gains his powers directly from Rukia.
Both are good anime for the shounen demographic with Death Note being for the psychological lovers, having a ton of mind games. Bleach being for those who love action.
