The same type of satire, dark comedy, social criticism and parodies everywhere.
Both of these series comedic satire that is often presented with absurd humor. They occur random and are not significantly important in various scenes.
There is a word plays in both series that is humorous and entertaining to watch. However, they do not have a linear story plot or deep insightful characters. Instead, it focuses on the characters and the actions to do that are often explored with social comedy.
Dialogue based Japanese humor with a dash of fanservice. This feels like SZS but without Itoshiki-sensei, Japanese culture references are rife. If you enjoyed one you will probably enjoy the other.

Both anime don't really have a plot, it's just filled with plenty jokes and parodies.
The fact that they share the same author makes it even more similar.
