The usage of word play courtesy of Shaft exists in both of these series. Both series tends to avoid a direct/linear storyline but rather have a slice-of-lifish theme that explores the identities of the characters.
And of course with word plays means = random scenes with pictures depicting actions.
Also, there is quite a large female cast in both series that has strange relationships with the main character.
Comedy is highly present in both series.
