Similar themes. Both anime have dark atmosphere, some horror and gore mixed in with top-notch action. Very interesting and somewhat complex stories in both of the shows.
kara no kyoukai series are similar to mnemosyne. magic and paranormal activities and philosophy a lot of philosophy which told you a sense of being a human. they both show the aim that human hardly can attain, but try despite all the loses.
Although Kara no Kyoukai is far better, both share a rather dark athmosphere. Also, there are mysteries that are not revealed until later in the series.

- Talks about life and death.
- Mnemosyne is more gore, bold in eroticism, and more sci-fi.
- Kara no Kyoukai is more philosophical.
Kara No Kyoukai and Mnemosyne are similar in that they are both very experimental, mature, and often time very dark and mysterious.
They both have stories based around time manipulation, albeit, in entirely different ways, with Kara being a non-linear, out of order story, and Mnemosyne being a story that traverses many generations and decades in time.
Both have strong female lead protagonists (who also double as somewhat of antagonists, depending on how you look at it), with odd partnerships throughout.
These two are some of the most beautiful looking animes available, as well- With Kara really taking the lead in the animation department.
