This is pretty similar in quite a lot of ways:
- The way they transform
- Magical Girls
- Darkened core (have to see more to understand)
- Light hearted in some areas
Even though I have only watched one episode so far of Ikusei - this is just making me think of Yuuki Yuuna way too much. Similar in settings. Would recommend Yuuki.
Both are magical girl shows that seem pretty cutesy at the start, but become more sinister as they progress. The magical girls are able to transform using their phones to fight enemies (Yuki Yuna) or each other (Raising Project). While Raising Project has a lot more blood and gore, both shows get very dramatic and the characters suffer.
The characters use smartphones to transform into magical girls.
They are both dark but lighthearted at the same time (a mixture of thriller and sol)

Just like YuYuYu, this anime is a part of the dark magical girl genre that PMMM made popular. It's centered around an innocent girl who wants to become a magical girl to help people but instead gets caught up in something bigger and darker than herself, just like the heroes of the hero club in YuYuYu. So if you like magical girl anime with a darker and deeper story than what might seem at first glance and loved YuYuYu, this one's perfect for you.
Much like Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku is a another anime within the Mahou Shoujo/Magical Girl genere. They both make us think about where these powers Magical Girls are given are from, and are these beings really benevolent? Who is to say what these girls fight for is "right," even when others are hurt? In fact, why does everyone simply follow this logic that young girls must be the ones to carry out this duty, perhaps at the cost of their lives?

Both are Magical Girl Anime with a very dark twist.
