The main characters both have special abilities and so does their companions. Both boys are also very mercifull and kind. There are also alot of other similarities, but people get annoyed when I meantion spoilers, so you'll have to trust me here =)
- In both series the protagonist is the male reincarnation of the girl one of the characters loved in her past life, they meet their reincarnation and protect them without clearly speaking about their past lives or relations.
- The protagonist is surrounded by bishounen who all want to protect him.
- Kyo Kara Maoh only has slight hints of shounen-ai while Uraboku takes it a little more seriously but both are safe to watch (at least for someone like me who doesn't like much physical romance in any form). Nothing ever happens between the guys.
- KKM has a haremish feel while uraboku has predetermined
