Both main characters embark on a journey to meet and befriend (or perhaps collect) humans with supernatural powers - whether they are witches in Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches, or Dragons in Yona of the Dawn.
Both also have some elements of romance, though it's more present in Akatsuki no Yona, and both have harem/reverse harem situations. Akatsuki no Yona is more dramatic and historical, however.
