Both of these are fighting anime. But they share a similar since of humor, and animation style.
Ueki - is a battle anime where the winner's "god candidate" (or coach) becomes god.
Zatch Bell - is a battle anime where the winner's doll becomes king.
Gash deals with a protagonist who receives a little kid while in Ueki the protagonist receives supernatural powers but both series deal with the same kind of action-packed emotional battles and hilarious comedic moments throughout the series. Both's antagonists are also similar in almost every kind of way.
- Both are non-human partnered with humans.
- Both are about friendship and to protect.
- Both are about fighting to become King(Gash Bell) or God (Law of Ueki).
Although for The Law of Ueki, it's only 1 side fights (the humans). Gash Bell is both the human and demon fight together.
Gash Bell is a much better series than Law of Ueki. But Gash Bell anime ended differently than manga, so it's best if you read the manga after anime!
Both involve battles in which one person is picked by a superior entity to be their partner in a battle, in which the last one standing obtains a grand prize in both shows becoming a leader of a group.
gash bell and ueki possess the same type of humor and presents many unique powers incorporated within their battles. for example ueki has the power to turn garbage into trees (promotes recycling lol). both are great (I enjoyed ueki a bit more) and recommend both.
