Imawa no kuni no alice is about a group of friends who get transported to a parallel version of Earth. In this new world, you need a Visa to live, when your visa expires, you die. To renew your visa, you need to play different games that this world offers. They vary in difficulty, the harder the game, the more days you get in your visa.
Like Darwins game, the main character is dragged into an unknown game where he is forced to fight for his life in order to live.
While both series involve characters struggling to survive in high-stakes situations, "Alice in Borderland" leans more into the thriller and psychological aspects of the survival game genre. It also explores themes of morality and the consequences of one's actions. "Darwin's Game" is more focused on the supernatural abilities granted by the game and the strategic battles that result from them.
So, while they share a common genre, each series has its unique setting, style, and themes, making them distinct experiences for viewers.
