Both series are examinations of deeply flawed characters who seem to be morally vacant and adrift. Both series examine in depth the consequences of love gone wrong.
Both shows turn really dark, mostly in there other half, and I hated both.

Both involve Yanderes. Keep in mind, School days is much slower than Happy Sugar life, but the ending is worth the wait.
