Were you watching Tsuki ga Kirei and feeling "hmm, this sure is a nice love story, but it could really use every character being a horrible and irredeemable person?" Then look no further than this! See, School Days is everything that Tsuki ga Kirei is not. Tsuki leaves you with butterflies in your stomach, while S.D. makes you want to grab the nearest sharp object and send it through the screen.

They are not really similar in their execution, but both animes depict well the importance of relationships, and how you shouldn't f*ck up when loving someone, also, I think both are very realistic, sure, School days has its harem, but I guess that what Makoto did, was what almost every horny teenager out of his mind would do if he had all those chicks at his hand. Tsuki ga kirei depicts a nice light hearted portray of healthy school romance, with its problems and loveable learning, so both animes show how real life people feelings work like, and there's where I find the big similarity.

If Tsuki ga Kirei is everything going well, School Days is everything going badly. School Days is simply the tragedy version of Tsuki ga Kirei.

Real relationships. Two anime that are on different sides of the same coin in this genre would have to be Tsukigakirei and School Days. Both show quite a real relationship but are pretty much perpendicular to each other in how they go around this. Tsukigakirei does this with a junior high relationship, only deciphering what to do with new experience around every corner. School Days does this with a high school relationship that finds itself going wrong. Both are believable, though School Days is on the extreme end of things using believable aspects, Tsukigakirei is just very interesting and wholesome. Both are great romance anime I would   read more
