Both shows have similar character designs, even though the personalities in the show are very different. Also, both have themes that follow mental illness and trauma. However, School Days focuses more on romance while Myself ; Yourself seems to focus more on character relationships. There were just many times during Myself ; Yourself that reminded me of School Days, even though their plots are different.
The story kinda reminded me of School Days. The beginning seems more happy and the ends gets dark. If you understand, I would say that School Days is darker than Myself ; Yourself.

They both start out seeming like your typical anime full of drama and revolving around school but you realize that it isnt your typical anime very early into the series. Both animes have a very dark background and there are always traces of something more sinister lurking around. Both uses forshadowing very well. I personally enjoyed Myself;Yourself more then School Days though.

Both series start off as seemingly innocuous, unassuming, slightly awkward high school harem-ish romantic comedy series but spend the last few episdoes kicking the drama and insanity up to eleven and careening out of control. One gets a hold of itself and pulls together a happy ending; the other... not so much.

Similar characters, similar storyline, similar style. Both animes have similar aspects in one way or another. They both have a sort of "love-trangle" type story, and have a slightly horror-ish vibe to them with eerie scenes. Both seemignly sweet animes, then slowly getting darker and more emotional as the story goes on. You can really feel the characters emotions throughout the animes, and it's very easy to imagine yourself in their shoes. They can make you feel happy, sad, angry, and just about any other mixture of emotions, so you'll never really know what to expect with how you'll feel after you've watched them.

Both are Slice of Life that tend to turn strange near the end, and the endings will leave you breatheless..
Both turn kind of dark about halfway in.
The difference is, Myself;Yourself pretty much has a happy ending, while School Days...well...doesn't.
Many moments in Myself;Yourself just reminded me of School Days.

-Both animes focuses very deeply into the story that involves love triangles and one-sided love as well as problems surrounding it.
-School Life/Drama

Both start out very light hearted school based romances with lots of drama which quickly turn much more dark, and both have simlar art and have a clueless male lead(In Myself;Yourself he just isn't told what is happening but in School days he just is oblivious to everything).Differences are Myself;Yourself isn't a harem and actually has likeable charcthers.
Similar art, character designs, and narrative flow: a seemingly innocent and at first glance generic school slice-of-life makes a name for itself by quickly becoming unpredictable and making use of shocking and unsettling but unique drama.
If you hated School Days, don't disregard Myself ; Yourself just yet. To become as f'd up as possible, School Days attempts to evoke feelings of loathing from the viewer; conversely, Myself ; Yourself attempts to evoke feelings of solicitude. This difference eliminates from Myself ; Yourself the primary element that creates such extreme contempt for School Days because the audience is actually intended to like the characters of Myself
