Mahoujin Guruguru (2017)

guru guru is pretty unique in the anime landscape of 2017, but it reminds me a whole lot of gokudo. since it is a remake of another show from the 90s, i guess that makes sense.
at a time animes with standard rpg plots were more frequent than not, both shows parody the simplistic story, and mock the usual manicheism and cheesiness, involving some pretty regressive comedy.
so if you're looking for another entertaining comedy/adventure anime that's not as dumb as it looks, and you don't mind the 90s feel, gokudo is the way to go!
