Both shows deal with the exorcising or moving on of spirits. The main character uses spiritual devices that for some reason cost a lot of money. Both main characters desire more money. GS is definitely more cheesy than KnR, but they still have a generally similar undertone of helping ghosts.
Exorcising spirits with the ever-present theme of money. Mikami is rich, Rinne is poor.
