Azumanga Daiou The Animation

Both are high school comedy anime. Azumanga Daioh is a bit more wacky and random, and School Rumble has more story (just a little), but if you like one, you should also like the other.
Its high school... only a little different. A little zany, a little random, a lot of fun. If you like high school comedies that are somewhat wacky, both School Rumble and Azumanga Daioh provide plenty of laughs... especially with Tenma or Osaka's crazy day dreams!
If you add a few guys and some romance into azumanga daioh, you get the premesis for School Rumble. The other main difference is that School Rumble has two seasons, with a third one in production, and Azumanga daioh has one season and a few specials
Both shows have well developed comedic characters, their art style is alluring, and aside from SR's op and ed, both shows have songs that sound quite similar to each other.
karasuma is the exact counterpart of sakaki
Plus both sakaki and yakumo loves cats..the difference though is that sakaki has lots of favorite cats while yakumo has one specific favorite
every character has her own image song, and both school rumle and azumanga daioh have teachers that have known each other since college
Two comedies are amusing!
the difference is that in SR also shows the point of view of a boy, unlike AMD.
In both anime unimaginable things happen!
The unique personalities and sometimes of absurd characters, makes it even more interesting!

School Rumble is said to be the Azumanga Daioh of its time.
Both are respectfully good. Both have a female cast of main characters.
Both have rather interesting female teachers.
Both are pretty random.
Both series focus on individual character development.
I recommend both series.
