Both Devilman OVA's are similiar in story line and presentation. Animation is a little different and Go Nagai's touch is missing from Guyver, but I found myself thinking how similiar they are as I watched the Guyver series.

Both titles are action-packed anime that came out in a similar time period (late 1980's-early 1990's) with similar animation and atmosphere. In both The Guyver and Devilman, the main protagonist can transform into a strong humanoid entity and must utilize their new superhuman abilities to defend mankind against monsters that can morph into humans. Both anime are extremely action-packed, with plenty of violence, blood, and gore. If you like one, you should like the other as well.

Action anime with humans turning into monsters. The main character is a school boy who suddenly obtained a power that lets him transform and get powers that overshadow the monsters he fights. The monster designs are pretty similar. They are both 80's OVAs that got remakes later on.
