What really connects the two anime together is the characters' interactions rather than anything else. Of course, very diverging plots and I wouldn't recommend them if you are looking for similar literal aspects, though, it should be noted regardless, that our protagonist's ease through their lives consists of giving and return.
A new manga? Some inspiration and friends might help. Social problems? Some friends might help and could even help you out with your own.
Whatever it may be, I'd recommend these two anime solely if you are a fan of characters interacting with each other in growing some kind of interesting relationships with one another.
