Upon watching the first episode of Tsurune, I would say that both the MCs from Shigatsu and Tsurune have a past that has barred them from excelling at their respective "sport". Especially, both MCs are excellent at their arts, but are unable to recover from a tragedy until they have received the support of friendship.
-MC with a past
-Friendship

Both shows focus on protagonists who were initially excelling in their respective arts, however, due to certain events they are unable to perform at the level they once were. It is only through the support of their friends/others that they begin to gain the passion once again

Minato Narumiya always reminds me of Arima Kousei. The protagonist has some kind of 'block' to things they did when they were young. For Minato archery, for Arima piano. They were both very good at it, but they experienced a tragic moment, that changed their lives.
Later they met a certain person, who motivated them back to their hobbies.
Shigatsu is more focused on romance, but both shares a similar protagonist.
