Ballroom e Youkoso

Both have a musical sport as its basis and delve into relationships (though Ballroom has an overall lighter and grounded tone.) They have a light dreamy palette and amazing art styles. Both also have a reputation of being put-off by general viewership due to its perceived subject matter (one about being a pianist and one about being a dancer.)
Light-filled, airy, art palette. Anime follows main character who lacks confidence, and their path to becoming pro on a key hobby - Piano/Dancing although there is prior experience in Shigatsu. The atmosphere is lighthearted in both and many 'goofy' moments along with great characterisation.
A series exploring a high art descending from ballrooms and aristocracy. Ballroom e Youkoso is more cheerful tho.

*Similar story presentation.
*Good character development.

- Both Shigatsu wa Kimi in Uso and Ballroom and Youkoso have competition as one of the central elements in the relationship between
