Both of these are magical girl animes which follow the lives of lovable girls who transform into magical girls to save the day. They also feature male characters with some special abilities.

Magical girl animes with loveable main girls, and Fakir and Syaoran really reminded me of each other.
Both of these shows are excellent deconstructions/explorations of the magical girl genre without ever getting as dark as "Madoka Magica". They both start in the typical "monster of the week" format but end up focusing ultimately on the relationships between the characters and themes of love and perseverance. The growing relationship between Duck and Fakir in particular really mirrors that of Sakura and Syaoran, so if you like one you'll probably like the other. They also both have great soundtracks and surprisingly creative directing choices (even though the art has a bit of 90s cheese haha). These shows are simply excellent and can be enjoyed

Both are very cute magical girl series with very likable characters and also polar opposite love interests as well that have character development as time goes by too and also “friendships” with girls with dark hair as well too lol and both start off as pretty procedural but it eventually goes to a much bigger narrative as time goes by too.

Start out as episodic adventures with collecting items before developing a deeper narrative. There are similarities between the main girl and her eventual love interest in each respective series since the characters change roles. Both explore dramatic themes involving friendship and love with enough depth to make the characters lovable and dynamic. Each has beautiful animation and music.
They both have pieces of something that’s missing, and a young female hero who restores the missing pieces

Both shows explore the magical girl genre in unique ways that are similar to each other.
They both include similar progression of the dynamic between the main character and the leading man, so I think if you like one then you'd also like the other.
Instead of having a team of other magical girls, both main characters have a group of less similarly powered friends to support them.
They both also have the monster of the week, collecting something important format.
Overall, if you're looking for something similar to one of these, you should give the other a shot. They hit a lot of the same niches.
