Hell Girl and Perfect Blue do share the same reflection in the mirror to some extent. With one being about the journey to being broken, whereas the other is already at that stage, the two still resonate in their eerie, unearthly, spook to catch you out on how disturbing the world can get.
An unfortunate chain of events, a cruel world, people out to do whatever it is to take whoever it is they want down. A sad fate for the two ladies of both anime.
I'd follow Perfect Blue for an understanding of the internal chaos one experiences, otherwise known as insanity. I'd follow Hell Girl
