Both shows involve a grown man developing a father-daughter relationship with a girl after the man moves out to do some soul searching to live with the girl. Both shows are slice of life in a laid-back setting where building relationships and self-reflection are the main focal points.

It has the same child care factor and is a very wholesome series where the protagonist gets closer with the child gradually.
Simlarities:
Both anime are slice of life featuring a protagonist that faced setbacks in their careers.
Both moved elsewhere, more peaceful environment, for a change of pace.
Both protagonists meet a chilid and become a father/older brother figure to them.
Differences:
MC in Barakamon seems more pessimistic at times, but changes as his social circle expands; while, MC in Deaimon seems to somehow become optimistic from food.
Child in Barakamon tends to be more carefree, while child in Deaimon seems heavy-hearted.
