There aren't too many direct similarities between Akame ga Kill! and Elfen Lied since they take place in very different settings, but generally speaking I think if you like one you'll enjoy the other.

Dreaded. Elfen Lied and Akame ga Kill have a tendency for showing the most brutal fatalities anime has to offer. Apart from that, they also have an overarching darkened atmosphere to convey the harsh reality of the world and how it destroys the dreams and desires of the young ones.
Elfen Lied revolves around Lucy's past ultimately leading to her state of hating humanity's dark nature. Akame ga Kill is the same but it gives its MCs hatred towards how leaders run things, in this case, tyranny.
Both are good dark anime with Akame ga Kill being a dark fantasy full of action, in comparison to
