Both go into the nature of good and evil and have characters who are almost Sociopaths. Both lucy from Elfen Lied and Lelouch kill many people and feel little or no remorse for most of them.
Duality. Code Geass and Elfen Lied both share the similarity of individuals who have a dual personality to them, in a way the two sides almost represent good and evil.
Code Geass has prodigy Lelouch and his alter-ego Zero. Elfen Lied has Lucy and her alter-ego Nyuu. Elfen Lied forces the dual personality where Code Geass doesn't.
Both are good action-military anime with Code Geass focusing on rebellion, Elfen Lied having a more horrific attitude.
