Both are slightly brutal, both have first episodes that are hard to understand... but both are awesome beyond belief
Both shows have a pair of care-free main characters who get caught up in something they didn't expect. They both have action and take place in countries other than Japan (America in Baccano and China in CANAAN). Both stories are also somewhat hard to understand at first.
