Both stories deal with the supernatural and both are much more than what you originally expect.
They have well develped characters, comedy and still manage to tell a deep story.
Great music and art.
Even though Kuroshitsuji focuses on a devil butler and immortality for Baccano, both anime has similar 'air' of darkness and at the same time they are able to include comedic scenes. They also has the same time frame. Their animation and drawings are very good too.
