Tokyo Ghoul and Bungou Stray Dogs are both series that have two groups of people who aren't entirely human that are fighting against each other. Each series has a lot of action that takes place in alleyways. In Bungou Stray Dogs, the main villain (Ryuunosuke Akutagawa) has the ability Rashamon, which is fairly similar to the Kagune from Tokyo Ghoul. Also, the protagonists in each series is very new to the group of people they are working with.

Bungou Stray Dogs is basically Tokyo Ghoul, but better in my opinion. They have very interesting character designs and nice fight scenes. In both animes the characters have some sort of special abilities.

Both have a similar plotline, and both revolve around a group that is fighting against an organization. Both also explore the ability to use powers, and when they are able to control those abilities.

Battles with your own. Bungo Stray Dogs and Tokyo Ghoul follow a weak MC who is forced into the harsh world of fighting your own kind. BSD follows Atsushi who joins the Armed Detective Agency fighting against other gifted users, namely, Port Mafia. Tokyo Ghoul has Kaneki join with the other ghouls in the Anteiku in hopes of surviving against other humans and ghouls alike. Both anime are good action with Tokyo Ghoul having a much darker atmosphere than BSD, being a comedy.

-A battle between two (or more) groups of characters who have special abilities. -The protagonists who have problems with life because they are not human, but was saved by supporting characters. -The weak protagonists fight against stronger enemies. -Rashomon (Akutagawa Ryunosuke's ability) looks like Kagune.

The main characters each find themselves not an ordinary human.

After watching Tokyo Ghoul starting this just feels too similar. Both have some comedy in it,in Tokyo Ghoul people have kagunes and people in BSD have special abilities similar to a kagune. Watching BSD really reminded me of Tokyo Ghoul. Loved them both!
