Both deal with a teenager having an alien power inside him and questioning whether he is is still human after all the unbelievable and regrettable things that happen. They both are supernatural shonen with gore scenes and mystery behind the unknown things that reside inside of them.
Both take place in modern day Japan where humans live in fear of certain "creatures". The main characters are similar as both are put into the same unexpected and painful situations. Both have one really great and helpful friend and the atmosphere feels the same. They're both supernatural, horror, seinen and mystery series including lots of blood.
