In both series the main characters embark on a journey against the kingdom, however the circumstances in each series for the kingdom to be vilified are different.
Also, both of the series include a group that grows and changes as the journey continues.
Please note that Akame ga Kill is way more violent and tragic than Akatsuki no Yona.
Both anime have the rebel characteristic in them.
Akame ga kill is all about rebellion and so is Akatsuki no Yona. Akame ga kill focuses on one rebellion while Akatsuki no Yona focuses on more than one.
Different eras but with similar action scenes.
Akame ga kill is more violent and bloody (grafic).
Both have murders of those in power who doesn't deserve their status.
While Akame ga kill has a clear idea about who the bad guys are, Akatsuki no Yona makes you question if the bad guy is really bad.
Both contain romance "under the surface".
Corrupt government and politicians. The main characters have powers and helps the people. The action scenes were awesome and fun to watch from beginning to end.
