The only thing that can be said about these two shows? Expectations.
We all have them, and this is especially true for stereotypes. We generally expect tsunderes to be cute female characters the same way we expect theme parks to be happy, family-friendly fun. In both of these cases, we get our expectation.....and a little more than we bargained for.
I can't even explain it without spoiling it.
