If I should say it simple: Both series have the same taste.
Both stories are soft school slice of life that go around a simplified sci-fi concept like: time travel, paradoxes, the Schrodinger cat, Laplace demon… and the like. In other words, both focus on the live of the characters, "ignoring" the paranormal sci-fi events that began the stories.
