The overall tone of the shows is very identical in tone, as in they're very bittersweet shows. Funny, yet a bit sad.
There's a person who ends up helping everyone. (Tomoya and Kobato) Even though Kobato is clumsy and Tomoya is mostly sarcastic. (But really sweet. ^.^) There's also humor and love of course.
If you enjoyed watching one of them, you'll definitely like the other.
