With Clannad, both MCs are used to solve the heroines' personal problems respectively. Quintessential Quintuplets is the same though the Nakano sisters problems are academic-related rather than personal.
Both are good rom-coms, however, Clannad leans towards supernatural and dramatic elements, giving Quintessential Quintuplets a view from a harem side.
