The protagonists are very much alike. Especially their train of thought. And they are both surrounded by a fair amount of very cute and moé girls.
Both give off the same vibes as they are very lighthearted and comedical but some of the characters also has some interesting backgrounds.
'Chununibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!' has the same bright happy setting as Clannad. They are both set at school and they both include a male and female character getting closer and closer in their relationship.
The protagonist meets a girl, and help you create a club. The more time you spend together, the more they will form a loop.

A solitary ambition. Clannad and Chuunibyou follow rejected MCs and their time with someone who helps them bring their ambitions true.
Clannad follows delinquent Tomoya and rejected Nagisa on their journey helping other heroines as well as their plan to revive the drama club. Chuunibyou follows a generic Yuuta and eccentric Rikka with her journey to the ethereal horizon.
Both are great rom-coms looking into dealing with hardships that life throws at young ones. With Chuunibyou being incredible with comedy, Clannad is a great drama. Both brought to you by the studio Kyoto Animation.
