Similarities:
Both involve the same plot where MC gets to be in the company of oddballs.
Both also involve MC living by himself and getting annoyed by the people he lives with.
Dissimilarites:
The MC in one anime is a high schooler, while the MC in the other anime is a grown up.
Both have the same situation where guy goes to some place to to find himself from the frying pan to the fire kind of predicament. Both also have the same set of characters that provides such annoyance to the main character.
The same plot where guy goes to some place for some peace and independence, only to find a group of people who seems to wanna put their noses where it doesn't belong.

Slice of Life with a somewhat different humour and character set from the other romcoms, overall the same refreshing and positive ambiance and no/few romance in both.

While not a romantic comedy, Barakamon holds a very similar sense of humour to Kawai Complex Guide. Both series involve a main character who moves out on his own, only to find himself surrounded by others who won't seem to leave him alone. Both shows involve some very funny characters along with a similar art style that will surely keep you laughing throughout.
