2.43: Seiin Koukou Danshi Volley-bu

Starting off with the first episode of 2.43 we see that the main protagonist, Chika is a talented setter with a similar egotistical mindset as Kageyama in Haikyuu as they both experienced traumatic experiences involving a negative outcome in their volleyball career due to their attitude and resulted in a school transfer. The only exception is that while Kageyama transfers to a different high school than preferred, Chika transfers to a different junior high school in a different prefecture of Japan as Chika's outcome as a result of his behavior is far more serious than in Haikyuu's situation with Kageyama in which it wasn't as

High school boys playing volleyball. But 2.43 has a darker tone to it.
Honestly, 2.43 is just Haikyuu, but make it more serious and have an edgier main character and boom, that is the foundational premise for 2.43. If you enjoyed Haikyuu as I did, I would 100% give this show a shot.
Both shows are about Volleyball, however 2.43 Seiin has more darker drama.
Both anime talks about volleyball
But the difference is that Haikyuu focus in what happen during the match
While 2.43 doesn’t focus a lot on what happens in the match it end fast

Both Anime are about students playing Volleyball and they are trying to reach a new level to play against better opponents.
Both volleyball anime where it mainly focuses on a pair of people (the setter and a spiker). While haikyuu is more of a comedy and seiin is more of a drama, if you like one you should give the other a go. The shows feel quite different but both make you want them to win in their tournaments.

They both explore a characters love of volleyball along with how volleyball has resulted in stronger friendships. It also has the dark and light hair duo trope :)

not going to lie I thought it was going to be more like Haikyuu where it focuses on volleyball but I feel like 2.43 is more of a serious show than Haikyuu.
Haikyuu mostly focuses on the relationship between the players and the game.
From what I can tell by the first episode of 2.43. It focused more on the consequences of the character's actions (not saying Haikyuu doesn't do that).

both are about volleyball
seiin is more of a slice of life as it focuss more in the characters life than haikyuu
2.43 and Haikyuu!! have a very similar start in terms of Haijima and Kageyama being somewhat disliked. If you enjoyed 2.43, Haikyuu!! is definitely up your street. The major difference between the two is that Haikyuu!! allows for further character progression due to it being 70+ episodes in length compared to 2.43's 12 eps. However, I think 2.43 does a great job with character design in 12 episodes, and I felt as though I was really routing for Seiin near the end - similar to how I felt watching Karasuno and Seirin. If you are interested in sport anime and have a love for volleyball,
