Lead protagonist is very similar to Haikyuu's lead. Both small and wants to demonstrate some athletic skills to be acknowledged, and grows from the tough opponents they face.
Both Haikyuu and Ahiru no Sora are sports anime that make wonderful use of sports as a medium of developing characters alongside drama. The characters in Ahiru no Sora all have their own unique backstories and troubles in life. Both are underdog stories and we follow their journey as a team.
Both are very character-driven and exciting to watch. Haikyuu definitely excels in art and animation too, yet both have great soundtracks.

En ambos el protagonista tiene que pasar muchas cosas por ser pequeños, ambos animes son de deportes y excelentes a su vez.
Basically it's the same proposal, but it ends up distinguishing itself on some points, but, but I'm not taking the merits of '' Ahiru no Sora '', on the contrary, you will have fun and be thrilled watching both animes.
Both main characters are small for their sport and have to deal with adversity along the way.
The mc were both begin with nothing then achieve something together with their friend...that's how their tough battle will begin..interesting line work..all characters have their own unique and specific persoanalities...thats why it is fun to watch
They may be short, but they got skills. Ahiru no Sora and Haikyuu both follow skillful but physically disadvantaged sports players try to make it out to the big stages of their respective sports.
Sora aims for the inter-high but has to try to revive the basketball team first. Hinata aims for the top though he is paired with rival Kageyama.
Both are good sports anime targeted for the shounen demographic with interesting character developments along the way.

A short protagonist overcomes the barriers of the sport that they play.
The shows contain a great cast of characters that are developed throughout the episodes.
The animation is also really great with both shows and the hype and excitement for the next episodes to be seen is really high.
A weak character brings the club alive in both the anime and aims high.
Though Karasuno Volley Ball is already in spirits in contrast with the school here.
They are very similar, not just because of the genre, but also how realistic it is. Both of the shows focuses more on the drama and hype around it, and I get the same feeling from both shows: I wanna go out and play basketball/volleyball. If you like Ahiru no sora, then you will definitely love Haikyuu!!

both are sports anime and revolve around a character wanting to become a star. however both sora and hinata have probems relating to height and find their own way to fight to become the best they can be. each go through develpoment of skill (however haikyuu does it better) and it creates a change throughout each show. have fun watching. :D
