Both are underdog stories. the main characters are very similar. Both are very inspiring, passionate, hype and action packed with a hype ost

Both are about personal growth and improvement and Hinata and Midoriya have very similar goals that they were inspired by, despite their limitations, and continue to improve through failures. Their personalities are very similar in that they both tend to overthink, though strong and courageous, have a strong will, and are likable characters. There is a competitive theme in terms of winning a competition or being a hero in terms of competition, that continues to test and challenge their skills. Supporting characters have a backstory or a flashback that reminds them of their goal as part of the team or becoming a hero. Both anime   read more

Has the same energy and the ost is made by the same person. While BnHA deals with super power-esque action, Haikyuu is a more grounded version of action with volleyball. Both amazing.

Protagonist who wants to be the best at something (in this case, volleyball) but has something holding him back (in this case, his height) both anime have a rival who they sort of ending up teaming up with. You probably will be thrown off by the fact it's about sports, I was too, but trust me its amazing, and as good as this for sure.

While one is about sports and the other is about superheroes, both these shows have a very similar feel. The protagonists are the upbeat underdog who works harder than anyone else to achieve his goal, yet there are distinctive personality differences that set them apart in entertaining ways. The message of both shows is that you can achieve your dreams with enough hard work and determination. There are riveting action scenes, and the storytelling is quite similar in how both shows successfully generate hype for battles that loom on the horizon as our main characters get stronger and stronger. To top it off, as an   read more

Both anime tell a story of the main character that has big dreams and aspirations and are determined to make their dreams come true.

Both stories really keep you invested. Haikyuu is more focused around sports, but it's super hyped. Both the main character of Haikyuu and MHA are very similar; similar hair, similar voices, similar attitudes. The soundtrack is also composed by the same guy, so it's very reminiscent.

For starters a lot of the voice actors are in both of these animes as well as the ost being made by the same composer Yuki Hayashi. They are both underdog stories with lovable characters and exciting battles/matches.

I have not found a show similar to Haikyuu in sports personally, but I get the exact same feelings from these two shows. They both have an underdog lead that is unexpectedly talented, they often focus on teamwork (with great character development), and the animation makes the action feel like you're there. These two shows also have the best music. If you like one, you will 100% like the other, no question.

Although sports and superhero shows are typically pretty different, there are some key similarities in these two shows. The main protagonists from each show are extremely similar in both personality and experience. Both were told that they could never accomplish their goal and both proved everyone wrong. Their struggle to become the best at what they do while experiencing numerous setbacks was also a main theme in both (Hinata's mainly focusing on his height, while Midoriya's focuses on controlling his new power). If you like watching the underdog work hard, struggle, and eventually grow to become powerful, both of these are shows that I would   read more

Underdog high school male protagonist learns to face adversity and become competent in his own right with the help of his friends and his fiery unbreakable determination. While the setting of the shows are different, with BHA taking place in a world of superheroes and supervillains, both ultimately revolve around our main protagonist slowly reaching greater heights and inspiring his peers to do the same.

Even if you're not a fan of sports anime or even know how to play volleyball, if you liked Boku No Hero Academia, you will definitely enjoy Haikyuu!!. The protagonist in Boku No Hero Academia is a young student with an ambitious goal of being a hero with an idol he admires to a great extent. Although the protagonist in Haikyuu!! tackles a goal relating to sports and not superpowers, the story is -mightily- identical. These anime are full of well-written memorable characters and scenarios that may bring a tear to your eye or a smile or your face.

Rivals pair up. My Hero Academia and Haikyuu both feature rivals who end up in the same class/club and have to work together in order for them to both make it big. MHA has Midoriya and his childhood bully, Bakugou, placed in the same school of UA High, both competing for the top spot. Haikyuu has Hinata and his middle school rival, Kageyama, entering the same school and same volleyball club, leading them to work together if they want to stay in the club. Both are hype anime with great visuals and an adrenaline-filled atmosphere. However, MHA is action, and Haikyuu is sports.

Both stories focus on the very similar aspiration of the protagonist - to become the best despite being considered limited in the fields they wish to specialise in most. They also both manage to consistently develop surrounding characters, as well as the protagonist, to better build the world and invest the watcher. An example is how they both satisfyingly and carefully flip the classic anime rivalry trope on its head for a more refreshing, new experience of a protagonist’s journey to forging deeper connections and alliances with those around them. Fast-paced. Easily likeable characters. Amazing music that perfectly set the tone for every scene. If you   read more

When it comes to a lot of shounen, the bulk of the fights themselves are action packed and always entertaining. That's not to say the struggles here aren't also a long battle, but both Haikyuu and My Hero have a rather large emphasis on emotional buildup through the fight; while the struggling back and forth and the long battles are here as in many other shounen, the best moments in these battles are usually due to the emotional impact of that final finishing blow or rush. They've also both got a similar mix of lightheartedness and serious tension.

- Both the anime are completely different in terms of their story/plot. - But, both the anime's MC wants to get stronger in their own field, but they have some weakness (Shortness for Hinata and Quirkless for Deku). - Both of them have great visuals and sound/music. - Both of them have a school setup with a lot of side characters.

Both have that same energetic soundtrack. Both have very slick action scenes. Both have a large cast of very likeable characters, each with their own unique backstories. If you like one, you will easily like the other!

Haikyuu! and Boku No Hero Academia are very similiar because: 1. In BNHA, Deku wanted to be a hero despite the fact he didn't have a quirk, and in Haikyuu!, Hinata is a middle-blocker despite the fact he's short. 2. Deku and Bakugou are literally Hinata and Kageyama. 3. Both of the animes are about trying to become the best at something. I am 99% sure that BNHA took inspiration from Haikyuu!, but that doesn't make Haikyuu! a better anime.

-Both protagonists look alike and similiar face shape -Both protagonists have a big goal but with a disadvantage -Both protagonitsts have rivals and end in the same school and vow to better than each other -Soundtrack is similar

When I finished Haikyuu, I wanted an anime with a similar vibe and when I started watching BNHA, I felt like I found it. While it is not a sports anime, it has similar characters and themes. If you enjoyed Haikyuu, you will almost definitely enjoy BNHA.
